The President of Ukraine congratulated Ukrainians on Christmas
Volodymyr Zelenskyy in his video address expressed wishes for peace for Ukraine, noting Christmas Eve as a time of unity for Ukrainians during a difficult period.
On the evening of December 24, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy addressed the nation with a Christmas greeting. In his address, he emphasized the main desire of Ukrainians – peace for the country. The President emphasized that despite the complexity of the situation, Ukrainians remain united in their aspirations and values.
Zelenskyy called the Russians “non-believers,” referring to the massive attacks on December 23, when Russia used Shahed drones, Kinzhal missiles, and other weapons. According to the president, such actions demonstrate a complete lack of connection with Christianity and humanity.
The President stressed the special significance of Christmas Eve for Ukrainians, symbolizing family unity and the birth of new hopes even in the toughest times. Zelenskyy noted that regardless of circumstances, Ukrainians are always together, and this spirit of community cannot be destroyed.
Zelenskyy also emphasized that joy comes not from artificial lighting but from the light within each person. According to him, Ukrainians, regardless of their location, celebrate Christmas as one big family.
Earlier on December 15, the Chancellor of Germany called on Russia to stop hostilities during Christmas, although this initiative was not supported in the Kremlin. In Poland, a ceasefire was deemed unlikely, and the Pope expressed sadness over the refusal to cease fire.
