The director of the enterprise was informed of suspicion due to the supply of low-quality military uniforms
The director of an enterprise in the Kyiv region is suspected of embezzling about 1.7 million UAH by supplying low-quality military uniforms. This charge was brought due to the non-compliance of the products with the standards set by the contract.
According to the information from the Office of the Prosecutor General, a contract was signed between Bila Tserkva City Council and a private enterprise for the tailoring of uniforms for a voluntary territorial community formation. The fabric used in the production process did not meet the established standards, and the sewing works were carried out with numerous violations of the technology. Despite this, the company director supplied the goods as fully compliant with the requirements, embezzling almost 1.7 million UAH of budget funds transferred under the contract.
The military, having received the uniforms, filed numerous complaints about their quality. Further investigation by the prosecutor’s office showed that the supplied 830 sets did not meet the technical conditions of the contract. The company director has been informed of suspicion of misappropriation of property through abuse of office, committed under martial law in particularly large amounts. He faces up to 12 years of imprisonment.
This case is part of a broader problem of unreliable supplies for the military. Previously, it was revealed that a Kyiv company is also suspected of supplying the National Guard with 30,000 sets of substandard uniforms worth 28.7 million UAH. Another case involves an entrepreneur from the Kyiv region suspected of delivering faulty bulletproof vests worth almost 6 million UAH for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Reactions to such findings are a signal to society about the importance of proper control during the conclusion of agreements for the provision of necessary goods in the military sphere, especially under martial law conditions.
